Proton packs
Kiou's q-pack is an open-source proton pack: an almost fully printable, accurate shell plus the external parts (the Printables upload is MK2.1; MK4.1 is on GitHub). TheNewHobbyist and a friend set out to build packs before Halloween, found that making one is "pretty darn expensive", and shared the parts they modeled; they later turned the model into a miniature that would probably fit a 12-inch figure. cmaddy shared the parts from their own replica too.
A pack is a lot of plastic: prime with filler and sandable primer before paint, and glue parts with gel super glue.
Ghost traps
- Charlesworth Dynamics' 1984 trap is fully printable, with options to add real hardware.
- jjg made a simplified trap from six parts with working doors that assembles in about 15 minutes, after printing 200+ parts for a pair of proton packs.
- Peter Farell's trap doubles as a planter, box or seed starter.
- strike171's keychain trap, scaled to 80%, takes 5 x 2 mm magnets so the cartridge comes out, and neil3dprints made the RC trap from Afterlife as a toy model.
