Rust force wipe
countdown.
Rust PC force wipes on the first Thursday of every month at 2 PM US Eastern, which is 7 PM in the UK and 11 AM Pacific. Console runs a separate calendar: weekly wipes every Thursday, with the monthly map wipe on the last Thursday. Both clocks below auto-convert to your local timezone.
The next Rust force wipe is Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 2 PM US Eastern. That is 18:00 UTC, 1 PM Central, 11 AM Pacific, and 7 PM in the UK. Official Facepunch servers all wipe at that same moment.
Rust Console runs its own calendar. The next monthly Console wipe is Thursday, September 24, 2026, the last Thursday of the month. Console also wipes weekly every Thursday. Full Console wipe tracker and BP wipe answer ›

When is the next Rust wipe?
PC force wipes land on the first Thursday of every month at 2 PM US Eastern. That is 7 PM in the UK and 11 AM Pacific, or 18:00 UTC while the US is on daylight time and 19:00 UTC once the clocks go back. Console runs a different calendar: weekly Map wipes every Thursday for three weeks, then the monthly map wipe on the last Thursday, around 18:00 UTC. The countdowns above are anchored to the published wipe time and auto-converted to your local timezone, so wherever you are, the time you see is the time it will be for you.
Community servers can run their own wipe schedule. If you play on a community server, check that server's wipe rules - many wipe weekly, bi-weekly, or on a custom cadence rather than the monthly Facepunch schedule.
What is a force wipe in Rust?
A force wipe resets all player progress on the map. Bases, deployed items, gathered resources, loot, deployables, decay timers, sleepers, and the entire procedural map regenerate. Your unlocked blueprints stay in place across a force wipe - only a blueprint wipe (a separate event) resets those.
Force wipes mark the start of the most active gameplay window in Rust. Population usually peaks in the first 12 hours after wipe and gradually thins out toward the end of the month.
What is the difference between a force wipe and a blueprint wipe?
A force wipe resets the map and player progress while preserving your blueprint library. A blueprint wipe (often called a BP wipe) does everything a force wipe does AND wipes blueprints, so you have to research or find them again.
Force wipes happen monthly. Blueprint wipes are rarer and announced by Facepunch in the official Rust monthly news. Check the official Rust news feed for the next BP wipe date.
How often does Rust wipe?
Official servers force wipe once per month on the first Thursday. So the schedule for any given year looks like: first Thursday of January, first Thursday of February, first Thursday of March, and so on. Some months have 5 Thursdays - the wipe is still on the first one.
Blueprint wipes are decided by Facepunch and typically happen 3-4 times per year, aligned with major content drops.
What time zone is Rust wipe?
Facepunch is based in Birmingham, UK, and ships the monthly update on the first Thursday. The local clock time holds steady; it is the UTC number that moves when daylight saving changes. Here is the same moment, in the timezones people actually ask about:
- Wipe day: the first Thursday of the month, every month
- Wipe time: 2 PM US Eastern, 11 AM Pacific, and 7 PM in the UK during British Summer Time
- In UTC: 18:00 while the US is on daylight time, 19:00 once it is not
The countdown above auto-converts to your local time so you don't have to do the math.
Wipe day checklist
- [ ] Pick your server in advance. Match server pop to your group size: 100-150 pop for small group, 300+ for clan war
- [ ] Decide your starting position: coast for fast farming, monument-adjacent for tier-1 loot, deep forest for hidden bases
- [ ] Practice your spawn rush with your group. Loadouts, rock spots, sulfur node priorities
- [ ] Energy drinks, snacks, bathroom break before wipe. The first hour is non-stop
- [ ] Discord up, mic checked, lobby ready 15 minutes before wipe goes live
- [ ] While you wait? Display your past loot on the shelf so the next generation of raiders can see what you built
Your in-game loot disappears every wipe.
PropBuilds doesn't.

Rust wipe questions, answered
When is the next Rust wipe?
The next force wipe is shown in the live countdown at the top of this page. It lands on the first Thursday of every month at 2 PM US Eastern, which is 7 PM in the UK and 18:00 UTC during British Summer Time. Facepunch confirms the exact time in the official Rust monthly news post a few days beforehand.
What time does Rust force wipe?
Force wipe goes live at 2 PM US Eastern on the first Thursday of the month, which is 7 PM in the UK and 11 AM Pacific. In UTC that is 18:00 while the US is on daylight time and 19:00 otherwise. The countdown above converts it to your local time automatically. The exact minute can drift while the update deploys.
When is the next Rust console wipe?
Rust Console Edition runs its own calendar, so the PC date above does not apply to it. Console wipes weekly on Thursdays, and the monthly map wipe lands on the LAST Thursday of the month rather than the first. Double Eleven do not run Console blueprint wipes on a fixed schedule: their published policy is to avoid wiping blueprints where possible, so treat any monthly BP wipe claim as unconfirmed unless they announce one. The Console clock at the top of this page tracks that schedule separately.
Does every Rust server wipe on the same day?
Official Facepunch servers all wipe at the same global moment on the first Thursday of the month. Community servers run their own wipe schedules, which are usually faster (weekly or bi-weekly) and unrelated to the monthly force wipe.
Do my blueprints reset on a force wipe?
No. A force wipe keeps your blueprints. Only a blueprint wipe (BP wipe) resets them. BP wipes happen 3-4 times a year, announced separately by Facepunch.
Why does Rust wipe every month?
Monthly force wipes keep the game fresh, prevent any single group from snowballing too far ahead, and align with Facepunch's monthly content update cadence. Every wipe day is essentially a relaunch - new loot tables, new patches, new map, new shot at being top tier.
Can I find out the next wipe time before it happens?
The first Thursday of every month is fixed. The exact hour is announced by Facepunch in the monthly Rust devblog post a few days before the wipe drops. The countdown on this page updates as soon as the announcement is confirmed.
What's the biggest Rust wipe of the year?
The first force wipe after a major content update - sometimes a blueprint wipe - tends to draw the biggest population. Halloween, Christmas, and the summer update wipes are typically the largest of the year.
