Aperture's portal gun
Kirby Downey's model is the one to start with: the parts are optimised for as little support as possible and already oriented for printing, and the designer points to Jayko Torr's step-by-step build blog for adding electronics. G33kt3ch studio modelled a to-scale version from screenshots of Portal and Portal 2.
Lights and sound
- Lunchbox published Arduino code on GitHub plus the parts that replace pieces of an existing Thingiverse portal gun, so you print both.
- Prometheus remixed it so the bigger parts print in one piece, swapped in a hatch with three arcade buttons, and added a shopping list.
- doragasu remixed EVARATE's Portal Gun V2 with sound, using a nanoCH32V003 board and a power bank held in with M3 screws.
Rick and Morty's portal gun
Jib's is a shell for a full build: an Arduino, a speaker, a battery charger, a seven segment display set with a potentiometer, and a projector. Bannerz printed the body in PLA on an Ender 3 V2 and the plasma tube and lenses in clear resin, later designing a PCB and adding sound; the designer warns it needs a lot of filling, sanding and painting. ReProps' is simpler and CC BY, though scale and tolerances may need adjusting, and GeekDadStudio's is a non-functional desk or cosplay piece that needs no multi-material unit. There's even Evil Morty's gun from season 7.
Stands and small ones
Bash Creates' stand holds Kirby Downey's gun, prints in three pieces and has recesses for rubber feet; MysticTome's fits a full size portal gun. For action figures, there's a Lucky 13 portal gun (CC0) and a Dummy 13 portal gun.
