Pick the right
server
before wipe day.
BattleMetrics is the live database of every Rust server. Filter by population, wipe cycle, region, country, and ping. Look up players, track your own hours, find the friends you played with last wipe.
What it actually
does for players.
We tell players to bookmark BattleMetrics for one reason - it's the only browser that shows what's really happening on a Rust server before you commit to a wipe. Three things it does better than anyone else.
Find a server that matches your playstyle
High-pop wipe-day chaos? Low-pop solo grind? Modded? Vanilla? The browser filters every Rust server by population, wipe cycle, region, country, and your ping - so you commit to a wipe knowing what you're walking into.
See live counts before you queue
Player counts refresh every minute. Watch a server fill on wipe day, queue early to the one matching the pop you want, and avoid ghost towns that show 'Online' on the in-game browser but actually have nobody on them.
Track players, including yourself
Search any player by Steam ID or name. See when they last played, which server, how many hours. Same goes for you - every server keeps a leaderboard of who's grinding the hardest.
The toolkit.
All free, all browser-based. The first eight are the ones you'll use every week. The ninth (admin / RCON) is for server owners - included for completeness, but see their docs if that's your angle.
Server Browser
Every Rust server, listed live. Filter by population, country, ping, modded vs vanilla. Server ranking is calculated from real playtime in the past 7 days, not just current online count.
Wipe Schedule Filter
Most servers list their wipe cycle on their BM page. Filter the browser by weekly / bi-weekly / monthly so the schedule matches the time you actually have.
Live Population Graphs
Each server page has a real-time player count graph. See the peak hours, the dead hours, the wipe-day spike. Plan when you actually log in.
Region & Ping Sort
GeoIP-based distance estimate to every server. Set a max ping or distance from your location and only see what's actually playable.
Player Search
Look up any Rust player by Steam ID or username. See their last seen date, which server, how many hours, and what other servers they've played on recently.
Server Leaderboards
Every server has a public leaderboard of who's putting in the hours. Useful for finding clans, picking which server to commit to, and checking who the streamers are playing.
Wipe History
Per-server log of every wipe - date, duration, player count. Predict the next wipe before the server even announces it.
Server Favorites
Build a shortlist of servers you actually like. Skip the browse next wipe - go straight to your 3-5 picks and check pop counts there.
Admin & RCON Tools
BM also runs the back-end tools that server owners use to moderate, automate, and track their own servers. If you run a server, their docs cover it.
Every server, live.
Behind the filters is a real, structured live database. Every Rust server, every player session, every wipe - indexed in real time with public history.
If it's a Rust server,
it's tracked.
BattleMetrics indexes every official Facepunch server, every major community server, and most modded servers. Each carries a live pop graph, wipe history, and player session log - public, free, no account required to read.
How we use it.
Four moves that show up every wipe cycle. The BM page that solves each one.
Shortlist the servers
Filter the browser by your preferred wipe cycle, region, and pop count. Save 3-5 favorites. Check the wipe history on each.
Watch the live counts
When the force wipe ticks, refresh BM. Queue up to the server filling fastest at the population level you want. Don't waste time on slow ones.
Find your group
Search for your friends' Steam IDs. See who's still on the same server. Check your own session history if you're trying to remember which server you crushed last week.
Plan the next one
Hit the server's leaderboard and player count graphs. Decide if the grind was worth it. Adjust the shortlist before next force wipe.
Servers reset
every month. Your kit doesn't.
Between BattleMetrics queue refreshes, build something that lasts. Fan-made DIY display kits of iconic Rust items - designed, cut, and shipped from the US.
